BC Housing Board begins search for new CEO

BURNABY – The BC Housing Board of Commissioners has launched a process to select a new CEO for the Crown corporation.

A search committee comprised of the BC Housing Board of Commissioners will undertake a global search for the new CEO.

The committee will be retaining an executive recruitment firm to support an expeditious and rigorous search. Given the complexity of the process and the importance and specialized nature of the role, it is expected that this process will extend into 2023.

While the search process is underway, the Board has appointed Vincent Tong as Acting CEO effective September 7.

The current Vice President of Development and Asset Strategies with BC Housing, Tong was selected through a Board-led process that prioritized the experience and skills required to guide BC Housing through this transition period. He brings extensive experience leading large, complex, multi-disciplinary projects in planning and development, including with Toronto Community Housing Corporation and with a broad spectrum of projects in Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick for public and private sector clients.

The Board expresses appreciation to the employees at BC Housing for their dedication and professionalism and to outgoing CEO Shayne Ramsay for his decades of public service, including during his 26 years at BC Housing.
