BC Housing rolling out COVID-19 mandatory vaccination program for employees starting January 2022

BURNABYe - BC Housing will be requiring all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by January 10, 2022. This will apply to all BC Housing staff, contractors, co-op students, volunteers, auxiliary and temporary staff. Processes will be developed to determine vaccination status in each of these cases.

This mandatory vaccination program is being developed with expert guidance to ensure compliance with human rights and privacy law. BC Housing will keep employees informed as the processes and guidelines for the program are developed and will be reviewing the program on a regular basis as the pandemic progresses.

This will be an interim program, in place for a limited time period, and will be rescinded once public health and other experts advise it is no longer an important part of maintaining the health and safety of our workplaces.

BC Housing has obligations under the Workers Compensation Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation to ensure a healthy and safe workplace. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our first priority has been to create safe and healthy spaces for our employees, contractors, tenants, clients, partners and our broader communities.
