Update for BC Temporary Rental Supplement Program Applicants

As of April 29, BC Housing has received more than 67,000 applications for the BC Temporary Rental Supplement Program since it opened on April 9. As applications are processed, notifications are sent to renters and landlords with updates on the status of their applications.

Renters whose applications have been determined to be ineligible are also being contacted. Applicants who believe that their application has been deemed ineligible in error can send an email to BCTRSappeal@bchousing.org with the Tracking ID provided when they applied, their name, phone number, and supporting information or documentation. Should it be determined that an applicant is eligible, the tenant and landlord will receive the supplement for the month that the tenant applied as well as subsequent months.

Tenants who are not eligible for the BC Temporary Rental Supplement may be eligible for other BC Housing programs and are encouraged to visit our Program Finder to check their eligibility.

As a reminder, the BC Government has announced that evictions for non-payment of rent will not be enforced during the provincial state of emergency.

Renters with questions about the program can contact BC Housing’s Temporary Rental Supplement Program at 1-877-757-2577.
